Tattersall Shirts

Did you know that Tattersall Shirts are more than just checked shirts, athough the actual design is checked or plaid, it is special because it is woven into the cloth with even vertical warp stripes repeated horizontally in the weft to form the square within square designs.

Originally in the 1700s this classic fabric was widely used in Londons Tattersall Market Horse Blankets and so the cloth pattern gained it's Tattersall name and prominence from here.

Today it is famed as a timeless classic design which is often used for shirts and waistcoats and still very connected to country and equine persuits.
